Friends of Guirgho

Greetings from the Friends of Guirgho,

 

Our organization’s mission since the beginning has been to partner with rural schools in Burkina Faso, starting with the village of Guirgho, to maximize the potential of every student by providing access to state-of-the-art educational tools and technology.

 

Our commitment to our mission is stronger than this virus.

 

During this time apart, we are finding ways to come together to continue working toward fulfilling our mission to enrich these young lives. Though we have been presented with obstacles, they have created opportunities for us to continue fostering an environment of safe, accessible learning for the children of Guirgho.

 

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to provide the following to meet immediate needs:

 

• 6 handwashing stations and soap for the school grounds

• 400 locally-made masks for the students and teachers

• A solar grid to power a pressure pump which will readily provide water

• Books to enable the students to continue reading and learning while school remain closed

 

Now more than ever, it is important that education continue. The next great idea can come from anyone, anywhere. This is why we do what we do. This is who we are, and we won’t stop.
