Bicycle Awards
Recognizing Excellence & Leadership
Each year, to help inspire students, Friends of Guirgho awards four bicycles to students at the Guirgho primary school:
Academic Excellence – One bicycle each for the top-performing male and female students.
Leadership Awards – Two bicycles for students (one male, one female) who demonstrate outstanding behavior, effort, and leadership, selected by teachers.
Why Bicycles Matter
As children of farmers, students rely on their families’ ability to sell crops at rotating markets held every three days. A bicycle expands their reach, giving families access to more markets and improving their economic opportunities.
