Meet the Teachers

None of this would be remotely possible without the hard work and dedication of the teachers who commit themselves daily to the success of the students of Guirgho.

What made you become a teacher?: My primary school teacher inspired me to become a teacher.

How long have you been teaching?: Since October 1995.

Did you choose Guirgho?: No, it was an assignment. 

What is your greatest joy?: When everything is working in harmony; on an academic, social and material level.

What is your vision?: My vision is to be able to motivate the students to focus on moral and civic education, to encourage them to learn a trade as well as concentrating on academics.

PAUL COMPAORE

What made you become a teacher?: By vocation

How long have you been teaching?: Since October 2011

Did you choose Guirgho?: I chose Guirgho 

What is your greatest joy?: Good collaboration between students and teachers

Vision for the present?: To encourage and motivate students to realize that education can open the door to a better future.

Vision for the future?: To motivate the students to become better learners and take advantage of their educational opportunity.

KAM OBI OUEDRAOGO

What made you become a teacher?: By vocation and because I love children.

How long have you been teaching?: I started working as a teacher in 2011.

Did you choose Guirgho?: I was assigned here.

What is your greatest joy?: Having a good relationship with the students, with their parents, with my colleagues and my director.

What is your vision?: Give them the tools to be successful academically or vocationally and be productive members of society.

SANATA TIROUDA

What made you become a teacher?: I love children.

How long have you been teaching?: Since 2012

Did you choose Guirgho?: It was an assignment.

What is your greatest joy?: To see my students succeed at school, and keep developing professionally.

What is your vision?: Assist/accompany my students until they get to the last grade and get good results at the exam—that they all pass their exam. 

CELINE COMPAORE

What made you become a teacher?: I love children.

How long have you been teaching?: Since 2010

Did you choose Guirgho?: I chose Guirgho 

What is your greatest joy?: My joy would be to become a Primary School Inspector, get the opportunity to travel, develop professionally with different teaching methods and inspire my students to strive for excellence.

Vision for the present?: My vision for the present and future is that as the students are equipped with the necessary tools to succeed, it will stimulate them to further their education. 

DELPHINE AZIKIBA

What made you become a teacher?: I love children

How long have you been teaching?: Since 2010

Did you choose Guirgho?: I chose Guirgho 

What is your greatest joy?: To see the progress in my students. 

Vision for the present?: To motivate the students to learn.

Vision for the future?: To see the students continue to build on their educational foundation, become well rounded, so they will have a better future.

ADAMA ZONGO

What made you become a teacher?: I love children and I like to share my knowledge with the students

How long have you been teaching?: Since October 2005

Did you choose Guirgho?: I chose Guirgho 

What is your greatest joy?: To see the progress in my students when they first come to me in the beginning of the year and see how far they have come at the end of the scholastic year. When all my students (last grade) pass their exam, it shows that the students have learned what they have been taught.

Vision for the present?: To be able to convince the parents to love and support their children that they send to school, to be involved, and follow up on what they do at school, as it should be a vision for the future. 

Vision for the future?: To be able to be part of a strong team that likes to work hard and has love of teaching, because that is our duty as teachers to be able to get good results. Without hard work, nothing great can be done.

DENIS OUEDRAOGO

What made you become a teacher?: By teaching you give but you also receive. You share the little that you have and you receive much more. 

How long have you been teaching?: Since 2018

Did you choose Guirgho?: No, I was assigned to Guirgho.

What is your greatest joy?: My biggest joy will be for Burkina to return to its peaceful ways and to see the schools that were closed because of the instability in certain regions to be reopened again.

What is your vision?: I see my students becoming future leaders that respect the laws.

AMINATA KABORÉ

What made you become a teacher?: I chose to become a teacher because I like children.

How long have you been teaching?: Since 2009

Did you choose Guirgho?: No, I was assigned to Guirgho.

What is your greatest joy?: I biggest joy will be to see my students succeed in life.

What is your vision?: The present and the future of the students depend on them. If they work hard in addition to the knowledge that I give them they will succeed for sure.
